We are very
grateful to Paula and Rob Walton for inviting the whole school to their
farm as part of Devon Hedgerows Project recently. The children really
enjoyed exploring the hedgerows and watching craft activities. Thank you
to Jane Dean & Isabella Whitworth http://www.isabellawhitworth.co.uk/)
who demonstrated natural dying from hedgerows/spinning/weaving etc. and
Suzanne and Richard Kenwood of Windrush Willow
http://www.windrushwillow.com/)
who did some withy weaving into a giant ball with the children and
talked about raw materials found in hedgerows. They very generously
provided these workshops for free. The
children were also entertained with stories from the hedgerows by Clive
Pig and had the chance to see a dormouse before it settled down for the
winter.
