Welcome to Hawthorns
2025-2026
Meet the staff
Today we enjoyed sharing books with our parents, brothers and sisters.
World Book Day on the 5th March 2026
What a glorious day for a whole school walk at Broomford.
An alien visited our class today and asked us to create maps of the classroom to help him learn where everything was. We used different objects to represent items within our classroom. For example, blocks for tables.
We explored the school garden for different types of animals, in the pond, bug hotel and underneath pots and logs.
In Maths we have had great fun learning about place value within 10 representing numbers in objects, digits and words.
In English we have been reading the story Cave Baby. We listened to a piece of music and then pretended to be the animals linked to how the music sounded.
In Geography we used aerial photographs of Hatherleigh to label some key features in groups.
We've had fun practising our letter formation in rainbow rice.
