Our first day in year 4 and other whole class photos

Meet the Staff

 

 

9.7.26 Having had their residential at Hooke Court, year 4 wanted to support Miss Chauhan's trip to Malawi and buy much needed items for this children she is going out to teach. The children loved making and icing the biscuits and were excited to sell them to the children and adults after school. Thank you to everyone who supported our sale, we raised £73.50

 6.7.26. Our visit to All Jigsaw Puzzles. 

Year 4 were very excited to be the first class to go to the puzzle factory and be shown round seeing the whole process from printing to delivery. To make it even more special, they helped make their own puzzle. It only took 70+ attempts to get a photo Mrs Moss was happy with and this was all prepared at the factory in advance. The children saw how their box was printed and assembled, then pressed the important pedal to make their puzzle. The machines were fascinating, and the children were amazed to see how it all worked. Holding their treasured  boxes as they came from the shrink-wrap machine, we went upstairs to see the stockroom and how they get delivered to the costumers.  Thank you so much to all the staff who demonstrated and explained the steps and answered all of their questions. 

26.6 We popped up to the garden for a cool down at the end of the day and were delighted to meet this beautiful little frog / toad.

25.6.26 Assessment week in this heat might sound bad but with a fan blowing, their feet in water and ice added to their drinks, it was ok. We also had a cinema with a difference on Thursday afternoon, with some just chilling with the film and other children painting and watching. The children have been brilliant.

 

16.6. Thank you so much to the PTFA for funding our end of year treat... the Legoman. The children had a fantastic afternoon with Jillian building their own fairground rides. A few Lego people went flying during the testing phase but none were seriously hurt. The PTFA give each class money to be spent as we choose.

 

18.5.26. We were joined by 5 little visitors today. Mrs Moss' fish had more babies and as her tank didn't need any more and the class tank had the last set of tiddly fish, these have found a new home. The children were fascinated by how small they were.

Back out in the garden with Mrs Andrew. I hope they are as keen in their own gardens at home.

14.5.26. A very practical lesson on our digestive system. I hope this inspired conversations around the dinner table this week.

15.5. Mrs Andrew had no shortage of volunteers to help clear up the school garden this morning. They enjoyed cleaning the poly tunnel, weeding, cutting brambles and finding many different kinds of wildlife.

 

14.5 As part of our work on design , we looked at William Morris and the children had a go at creating their own repeat pattern.

 

7.5.26. They have been enjoying their weekly cricket sessions with Niall

As part of their work on French culture, they learnt about Henri Matisse

 

24.4.26 We went into the woodland area to make shelters for Wesley, linked to our writing test, Weslandia

 

April 5th Our Easter Cards

15th March. Happy Mother's day to our amazing mums and carers.

4.2.26 The children are loving our volcano topic. We used the large selection of books borrowed from the library service to start their Google Slide presentation. I hope they are sharing their learning with you at home.

30.1. As part of our English worked linked to 'Pride: The story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag', we had a protest in class today. The children definitely got in the spirit of loud voices and slogans.

22.1.26 After looking at sculptures that portrayed the artists emotions we had a go oursleves.

19.1.26. Continuing the new year with more work on our yoga skills

15.1.26 We spent the afternoon using only scissors, no glue, to create our sculptures. Then we used classroom items to create sculptures.

15.9.25 We talked about collaboration and teamwork before becoming Human Machines. I wonder if you can work out what these machines are doing?

12.9 Morning exercise. It was a Hotdog Tag morning

11.9.25 Our chosen artist is Frederico Babina, so we designed our own building and worked in the style of famous artists which is what Babina did.

11.9.25. To start our work on Ancient Greeks, we read and acted out the myth Theseus and the Minotaur and discussed the evidence that suggests the myth was real.
