The principal aim of religious education is to explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live. RE helps our young people to: gain a broader understanding of views and beliefs; improve their knowledge of global affairs; and promotes the virtues of respect and empathy, which are important in building a more cohesive society.
At Hatherleigh, RE is taught using a curriculum designed by NATRE, the National Association of Teachers of Religious Education, to support the Devon and Torbay Agreed Syllabus.
