  • House Captains KS2 sports competition

    Thu 12 Feb 2026

Thursday was the House Captains tag rugby festival. Again, 2 children per house for each class were chosen to take part.

"We started with a warm up and worked on their agillity skills. We got the children passing the ball round the large circle then went into mini tournaments. They showed fast skills, good resilience and good sportsmanship and friendship when they weren't winning."

  • House captains KS1 sports competition

    Wed 11 Feb 2026

The House captains organised their first sports competition for EYFS & KS1. Their focus was multiskills and tag rugby. They randomly chose 8 children from each class, 2 per house, to participate. The House Captains were so impressed with how the children didn't give up and all participated well. They were calm and behaved well in such a small space (dining room). The House Captains really enjoyed it and are looking forward to tomorrow's KS2 tag rugby.

  • Library Van visit

    Mon 09 Feb 2026

We were very lucky to have Sue from the School library service bring the library van to our school. Each child from Reception to year 4 had the opportunity to visit the van and choose a book for their classroom library. Further books were chosen to update our library stock. Year 5 and 6 had previously had a visit from Ali, from the school library service, who delivered their Reading Roundabout sessions and left 100 new books for them to enjoy.

  • Number Day

    Fri 06 Feb 2026

Thank you so much to all the children who dressed up, and for the adults at home who helped with the amazing costumes. We had calculators, number puzzles, colourful number decorated T-shirts, a Numbots robot and of course "6 7" made several appearances. We all came together for assembly so we could see all the classes’ outfits, then had a number quiz - hopefully the children will remember some of the facts I shared.

Each class got involved with different Maths activities being creative, cooking and working on tessellation and design

  • Y5 and 6 netball matches

    Wed 04 Feb 2026

Well done to the Y5 & 6 Netball team for representing the school in a match against Shebbear Prep school. It was a close game with lots of goals from both schools. The children all behaved excellently and were a credit to the school. It's so great to be able to play a proper match with a bit of competitiveness! Well done and a big thank you to the parent drivers who without we wouldn't be able to take the children to these matches!
